Sports Group Therapy

Pressure to Perform. Constant Critique. Competitive Environments.
The mental and emotional demands of being a young female athlete can impact your overall well-being on and off the ice.
About Sports Group THERAPY
Led by a Registered Psychotherapist, Rebecca Krawiec, with special interest in sports psychology and the unique pressures faced by young women in athletics.

POWER PLAY: MIND EDITION
A group therapy program designed specifically for young female athletes who are navigating the mental health challenges of a high-level sport. This program provides practical tools and strategies to build emotional resilience, manage pressure, and develop confidence through self-compassion. This program also provides a safe space to have an open dialogue using on-ice emotional experiences as a starting point to slash the mental health stigma.
SUPPORT FOR YOUNG FEMALE ATHLETES
Are you a young female athlete struggling with performance anxiety, self-doubt, or intense emotions such as anger on the ice? Are you looking for support to handle the emotional ups and downs of competitive athletics while learning to be kinder to yourself?
WHY INVITE YOUR TEAM TO INVEST IN THEIR MENTAL GAME?
- Young athletes face unique challenges—to be perfect and performance pressures, regulate negative emotions with intense pressure, and fear of failure
- Without support, these stressors can contribute to anxiety, low self-esteem and burnout amongst other mental health conditions
- Athletes with strong mental skills perform better and recover faster from setbacks
- Building self-compassion can transform your confidence, not just in sport—but in life

This program is customized by Hummingbird Therapy Clinic for the entire team to meet the emotional and mental health needs of all players who are striving for excellence—while also learning to take care of themselves mentally and emotionally. Develop the inner strength to face challenges in sport—and in life—with resilience and compassion. Additional sessions available based on the team’s needs.
