Hello, I’m Krista, and I’m excited to be part of the team at Hummingbird as a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology practicum student. My path to becoming a therapist builds on more than 20 years of experience in health promotion and advocacy. I am passionate about workplace wellness, organizational health, and mindfulness, and I’ve witnessed how disconnection from one’s purpose can affect a person’s sense of meaning and value. My experience working within a first responder organization has also enhanced my understanding of the importance of peer support and being trauma-informed.

My areas of interest include divorce and remarriage, parenting in blended families, supporting caregivers and seniors, ADHD, and addressing occupational health or career challenges. Additionally, I have a profound appreciation for nature, and mindfulness is central to my practice, helping clients develop awareness and presence in their daily lives.
